Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor calls for unity and renewed commitment to propel Sabah towards greater development and prosperity under the SMJ agenda
KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor (pic) has urged Sabahans to harness the spirit of Hari Raya Aidilfitri as a catalyst for renewed determination and unity to build a more developed state.
He said the collective commitment of the people is crucial for ensuring continued progress aligned with the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) agenda.
“Aidilfitri symbolises victory over one’s desires and the triumph of patience and sincerity,” Hajiji said in his Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026 message.
He added that the celebration is the best platform to strengthen ties among families, neighbours and the wider community.
Hajiji highlighted that the festival is celebrated in Sabah with goodwill among people of various races and religions.
He stressed that this unity in diversity represents the state’s true strength.
The Chief Minister emphasised that long-standing values of mutual respect, tolerance and togetherness must be preserved.
These values, he said, form the foundation of stability and development in Sabah.
On governance, Hajiji reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to maintaining political stability.
He described political stability as a key prerequisite for sustained growth and prosperity.
To sustain this momentum, the government has outlined a more strategic direction through the SMJ 2.0 Development Plan.
“SMJ 2.0 is not merely a plan on paper, but a firm commitment to transform Sabah’s economy,” he added.
The plan also aims to empower human capital and ensure the well-being of the people remains a priority.
