Extreme heat in Malaysia during Hari Raya causes makeup and skincare products to melt, shocking users nationwide

BLAZING sun greeted Malaysians as they celebrated this year’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri, with authorities reporting Level 2 heatwaves in some areas.

The extreme heat has caused cosmetics and skincare products to literally ‘melt’ in the tropical weather.

On Threads, @enlmrdhh from Negeri Sembilan shared that she left her acne pad container in her car, only to find it melted and slightly deformed when she returned.

“Malaysia is so hot that my acne pad container melted,” she wrote.

Many others reported similar experiences. One user said her matte lipstick melted after being left in her handbag in the car.

“Even my toner in the bottle has heated up and feels warm,” Faraa Natasyha added.

@aiizzii revealed, “Because it was so hot, my dad’s shoe sole came off during Raya. Luckily we had a spare pair of slippers.”

Hanna shared, “The other day, I left my blue-coloured mascara in the car. After an hour or so, I checked and it had shrunk.”

Another user said she had to store her aloe vera gel in the fridge before applying it, as it became too hot to use comfortably.

Some even noted that running the air conditioner was barely enough to cope with the scorching temperatures.
