The Malaysian Meteorological Department warns of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in multiple states and federal territories this evening.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) has issued a severe weather warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds.

The alert is in effect for several states and two Federal Territories until 7 pm today.

The warning covers the entire state of Melaka, as well as specific districts in Perak, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Johor.

In Perak, the affected areas are Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim.

The warning for Pahang includes Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub and Bentong.

In Selangor, the conditions are forecast for Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, Hulu Langat and Sepang.

The entire Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya are also under the warning.

For Negeri Sembilan, the alert covers Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Tampin.

The affected areas in Johor are Tangkak, Segamat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru.
