Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil says housing and a new school are key priorities for Lembah Pantai, with a mobile health clinic planned after Raya
KUALA LUMPUR: The development of housing in the Lembah Pantai parliamentary constituency will always be prioritised to help residents enjoy a more comfortable life.
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, who is also the area’s MP, cited the redevelopment of Seri Pahang Public Housing as a key example.
Its 777 units will be replaced by Residensi Maarof, which offers 843 larger and better-equipped units.
Discussions are being held with the Kuala Lumpur Mayor to resolve issues, including high stamp duty costs, by seeking cooperation from the Ministry of Finance.
The process of relocating tenants is expected by mid-year or the fourth quarter at the latest.
A new primary school with 36 classrooms will also be built to meet local education needs.
The school will be constructed on the former site of SMK Seri Pantai, which is expected to be demolished in May or June.
Fahmi was speaking after the Lembah Pantai parliamentary constituency’s Perdana breaking of fast event at IWK Eco Park, Pantai Dalam.
At the event, he presented RM150 vouchers to 1,200 recipients to assist the underprivileged in preparing for Hari Raya.
He added that a health campaign will be carried out in the constituency after Aidilfitri.
This will involve a mobile health clinic providing screenings and information on government programmes.
