Israeli defence minister says joint US-Israel bombing of Iran has no time limit, with strikes to continue daily until objectives are achieved.
JERUSALEM: Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz declared the joint bombing campaign with the US against Iran would continue indefinitely.
He stated the operation would go on “as long as necessary” until all objectives are met and the campaign’s outcome is decided.
Katz insisted the strikes have inflicted heavy casualties on Tehran’s forces, not civilians. He claimed hospital morgues in Iran were full as a result.
The minister added that strikes would persist in Tehran and across the country “day after day, target after target”.
He described the Iranian leadership as fleeing “like mice into tunnels” from the ongoing aerial assault.
The United States and Israel initiated strikes on Iran on February 28, an attack that killed its supreme leader. This action plunged the Middle East into a spiralling war.
The attacks followed weeks after Iranian authorities ruthlessly crushed mass protests. However, the US and Israel say they are not necessarily seeking to topple the Islamic republic.
Katz said strikes would continue to enable the Iranian people to rise up and remove the regime. He added that “ultimately, that is something that depends on them”.
