KPDN records RM1.09 million in seizures from 295 cases during Ops Pantau, with inspections at over 16,000 premises to ensure price stability for Ramadan.
PAPAR: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living has seized goods worth RM1.09 million from 295 cases during its ongoing Ops Pantau.
Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said inspections were conducted at 16,059 premises nationwide over the past 10 days, covering Ramadan bazaars, wet markets, and retail shops.
He revealed that 143 cases involved the failure to display price tags, while 78 cases were related to the use of unverified weighing and measuring instruments.
Armizan noted that only two offences were recorded from 6,268 inspected Ramadan bazaars, indicating a high level of trader compliance.
The operation will continue until March 20 to ensure legal compliance and price stability throughout Ramadan and Aidilfitri.
Separately, Armizan announced that the Jualan RAHMAH MADANI programme is now a permanent government initiative.
He said the programme is scheduled three times monthly in each state constituency, with an advance calendar on the ministry’s website.
“For this Ramadan, the ministry is targeting 1,898 Jualan RAHMAH MADANI programmes nationwide, with 541 already implemented,” he said.
