LAOS: Elections for the 10th National Assembly deputies and local authority representatives have begun.

Voters will choose 175 members for the unicameral parliament and 745 for the fifth Provincial People’s Councils.

More than 4.76 million registered voters nationwide are eligible to participate.

This figure includes over 23,300 registered voters living abroad.

Polling stations across the country have seen steady voter turnout since early morning.

Voting is held every five years in the Southeast Asian nation.
