Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil announces a new health clinic and primary school for Lembah Pantai to ease congestion and improve resident access to facilities.

KUALA LUMPUR: A new health clinic and a primary school are planned for the Lembah Pantai constituency to boost local facilities and resident well-being.

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the new clinic, with an estimated cost of RM60 million, will be built in the Pantai Central Park area.

He stated the clinic’s services will be on a larger scale and higher level than those at the existing Tanglin Health Clinic.

“The clinic is highly anticipated by residents as it would be closer than the Tanglin Health Clinic,” Fahmi told reporters after an event at Ar-Rahah Mosque in Bangsar South.

On education, Fahmi announced a new primary school will be built at the former site of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Pantai.

The planned Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Pantai is expected to have 36 classrooms to ease congestion at two existing primary schools.

In a separate development, Fahmi said Kuala Lumpur City Hall is studying a proposal to redevelop the Bazaria Pantai market.

He noted the plan requires further consideration due to a proposal to build the MRT 3 line near the location.

Two design options are being considered, including a multi-storey concept combining an Urban Transformation Centre with parking and stalls.

“There is no final decision yet on the design,” Fahmi said, adding that discussions with MRT Corp are expected next week.
