PETALING JAYA: Berjaya Corporation Bhd (BCorp) has appointed Levin Tan as its executive director effective yesterday, underscoring the global consumer group’s continued commitment to strong governance and effective leadership.
Tan is an accomplished investment professional with over 18 years of experience in investment banking and private equity investments across Southeast and Central Asia. As a director of BCorp, he is expected, along with the board of directors, to drive strategic direction, business excellence and sustainable value creation across the group’s diversified businesses.
Commenting on the appointment, Nerine Tan, CEO of BCorp, said, “We are pleased to welcome Mr Levin Tan to the board. His extensive finance experience and strong track record in strategic investments will further assist the board in discharging its stewardship and responsibilities, strengthening the group’s ability to reduce costs and bolster revenues. Following the new appointment, the members of BCorp’s board of directors are: non-independent non-executive chairman Tunku Tun Aminah Sultan Ibrahim Ismail; CEO Nerine Tan Sheik Ping; executive directors Chryseis Tan Sheik Ling and Levin Tan Eng Kien; and independent non-executive directors Penelope Gan Paik Ling, Datuk Seri Leong Kwei Chun and Nor Afida Abdul Ali.
