Netizens outraged as a mamak charges RM17 for Apple Milk + Lychee drink. Is it overpriced or normal?

A recent social media post has sparked a lively debate among Malaysians after a user questioned the price of a drink purchased at a mamak restaurant.

The post, which quickly gained traction online, simply asked: “Is it normal for an apple milk drink with lychee to cost RM17 at a mamak? Have you guys ever been charged that much?”

While the drink in question reportedly consisted of apple juice, milk and lychee, the RM17 price tag shocked many people in the comments section.

Many slammed the price, claiming that mamak prices these days have become downright exorbitant.

“Was it a standard cup or a big mug? But mamaks are really expensive! Even USA fried rice costs RM15, you know!” fatinnrazali shared.

“Oh my, that’s so ridiculously expensive!” privhawa commented. 

“I don’t know about others, but I honestly feel that mamak prices are really expensive. Like goreng-goreng and nasi campur — regular shops sell them much cheaper,” coffeebrew._ opined.
