Malaysia condemns Israel’s attacks on Iran, warning they risk regional war and violate international law, urging immediate negotiations for peace.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has issued its strongest condemnation of what it terms the “brutal action” of the Zionist regime following reported attacks on Iran.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan demanded an immediate cessation of the assaults and called for negotiations to preserve global peace.

“The action is deeply concerning and risks igniting a conflagration in the region,” he stated in a Facebook post.

Mohamad warned that the aggression would inflict suffering on innocent civilians and could escalate into a larger conflict.

He stressed that the world does not need a new war at this moment.

The minister asserted that the attacks constitute a violation of Iran’s sovereignty and a threat to regional security and stability.

“Whatever justification given, violence is not the answer,” he added.

Mohamad further accused Israel of flagrantly violating principles of international law.

He cited breaches of the Geneva Convention, United Nations Security Council resolutions, the UN General Assembly, and the UN Charter.

International news agencies reported explosions in Tehran and several other Iranian cities including Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, and Kermamshah.

The attacks were reportedly launched by the Zionist regime on Saturday.
