Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim launches the Mushaf Malaysia MADANI, a hybrid Quran blending traditional art with QR codes for digital access to translations and STEM insights
PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today launched the Mushaf Malaysia MADANI at the Integrated Quran Printing Complex.
The hybrid Quran is among the earliest in the country to combine traditional Islamic calligraphy with digital innovation.
Each copy is integrated with a Quick Response (QR) code for accessing digital support materials.
These include translations in various languages, tajwid guides, and explanations of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) elements linked to Quranic verses.
It also features audio recitations by international qiraat expert from Egypt, Syaikh Ahmad Isa al-Ma’sarawi.
The transcription of the Mushaf Malaysia MADANI took nearly five years to complete.
It was handled by calligrapher Yayasan Restu’s Ustaz Abdul Baki Abu Bakar, who has over 30 years of experience in the field.
At the same event, the Prime Minister also launched a waqf Quran container under the One Million Quran Waqf Project.
The container holds copies of the Quran with translations in several languages for Muslim communities abroad.
Available translations include Spanish, as well as English and French editions for communities in Canada and the United States.
The programme reflects Malaysia’s commitment to expanding the global dissemination of the Quran.
It also aims to promote understanding of Islamic values to the international community.
The launch was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
Also present were Yayasan Restu Chairman and Nasyrul Quran Chief Executive Officer Datuk Dr Abdul Latiff Mirasa.
The event was joined by a line of Cabinet Ministers, senior government officials, state government representatives, and foreign delegates.
