Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says economic stability and a stronger ringgit are fostering national unity and support for the government.

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stated that economic growth and a strengthening ringgit have created a positive atmosphere among Malaysians.

He emphasised that economic stability is fundamental to sustaining national harmony.

“This positive development serves as a catalyst for the people to remain united and support the aspirations of the MADANI Government,” Ahmad Zahid said at a UMNO breaking-of-fast event.

He urged collective effort to uphold diversity and ensure Malaysia remains peaceful.

The event was also attended by UMNO deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and other Barisan Nasional leaders.

His remarks follow recent data indicating economic resilience.

The Department of Statistics Malaysia reported the Leading Index for December 2025 rose marginally to 114.0 points.

This suggests the economy is expected to remain resilient into the second quarter of 2026.

At the same event, Ahmad Zahid presented contributions to 50 orphans and tahfiz students.

The beneficiaries were from Rumah Anak Yatim Shifa, Rumah Titian Kaseh and Akademi Tahfiz Masjid Lapangan Terbang Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Subang.
