A 54-year-old man has died in a house fire in Kota Damansara, with the blaze causing significant damage to the semi-detached property.

KOTA DAMANSARA: A 54-year-old man died after a fire broke out at a double-storey semi-detached house in Jalan Kenyalang 11/6B this morning.

The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 9.09 am, according to its operations assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the house approximately 40% burned, with the victim discovered unconscious on the balcony at 9.30 am.

Ministry of Health medical officers confirmed the man’s death at the scene at 11.15 am, after which his body was handed over to the police for further action.

Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control by 9.45 am, though the cause of the fire and the total losses incurred remain under investigation.

The operation involved 17 personnel and fire engines from the Sungai Buloh Fire and Rescue Station, who received assistance from the Damansara station.
