Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says MARA will enhance its mission to empower Bumiputera youth for global competitiveness as it marks six decades of service.

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has announced that the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) will further strengthen its role to enable more Bumiputera youths to advance and stand on equal footing globally.

The statement was made in conjunction with the institution’s 60th anniversary celebration today, having been established on March 1, 1966.

Ahmad Zahid, in a Facebook post, said the institution remains strong and relevant as a driver of Bumiputera development in line with the demands of an increasingly challenging era.

“Six decades later, MARA stands as an institution that has opened millions of doors of opportunity in producing generations of professionals, entrepreneurs, skilled workers and leaders who contribute to the nation’s progress,” he said.

He added that behind every success story is MARA’s role in building confidence, shaping capabilities and paving the way for a better life.

“MARA has become a bridge of hope, transforming potential into achievement and dreams into reality,” the Deputy Prime Minister stated.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, expressed his appreciation to all MARA staff for their dedication and service.

He also expressed hope that MARA will continue to move forward in building a greater legacy for the future.

The institution is envisioned to remain a symbol of strength and the future of the Bumiputera community.
