A monkey troop broke into SK Sungai Tekali and ruined 10 rice packs meant for Ramadan donations.

A school’s plans to distribute donated rice to its students during Ramadan were derailed after a troop of monkeys broke into the premises and destroyed the stored supplies.

The incident at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Tekali in Hulu Langat went viral after the school shared footage through its official TikTok account, showing rice scattered across the floor of a storage room.

Based on the recording, the monkeys are believed to have pushed a window until it gave way, allowing them to enter and tear open the rice packages stored inside.

The video drew widespread reactions from netizens across Malaysia. Some suggested installing wire mesh over windows and along rooftops to prevent similar intrusions. Others recommended salvaging whatever rice remained undamaged by washing and cooking it, while a few proposed feeding the unusable portions to livestock. Many users also took the opportunity to send their encouragement to the school’s teachers.

In a follow-up post on the same platform, the school confirmed that all ten packages destroyed in the incident would be fully replaced using existing infaq funds, ensuring that the Ramadan aid would still reach the students in need.
