Lucky mother secures Rembayung seat before welcoming baby, sparking hilarious name ideas from netizens
IT is no easy feat securing a table at Rembayung, the wildly popular restaurant owned by renowned entrepreneur Khairul Aming. With reservations snapped up almost instantly, many food lovers count themselves lucky just to get a seat.
One expectant mother, however, managed to do just that and welcomed an even bigger blessing the very next day.
In a Threads post, Ferrara Arussa shared that she dined at Rembayung on February 15, finally getting to taste Khairul Aming’s much-talked-about dishes. The following day, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.
Her story quickly went viral, with the comments section flooded with sweet comments and jokes linking the newborn to the influencer and his restaurant.
One user quipped that the baby’s first words might be, “Hey, what’s up guys,” mimicking Khairul Aming’s signature greeting.
Nur Farhanah joked that the entrepreneur had gained a “grandchild”, as the baby was born right after visiting his restaurant.
Since the newborn is a girl, Syuhaida cheekily suggested naming her “Siti Nur Rembayung”.
Other netizens proposed equally creative names inspired by the restaurant and its owner, including Puteri Rembayuna, Nur Remba Yungdalia and Siti Amingnah.
Akmal even suggested the nickname “Ayong”, playfully noting how it sounds similar to the restaurant’s name — fitting, as the baby had technically tasted the hot-selling eatery’s food before she was born.
“Good thing you didn’t give birth while eating. Otherwise the baby might have eaten for free for life. Eh, that sounds like a flight perk instead!” Amalina joked.
Another mother, Ayreen Aralyn, shared a similar experience. She said that Rembayung might one day become the child’s favourite restaurant as she grows up — just as her own daughter developed a fondness based on what she ate before giving birth.
“On the last day before I gave birth, I ate a cake from Secret Recipe, and until she turned eight, that was the only cake she liked,” she said.
Netizens also congratulated the mother and her baby on their safe delivery and wished the mother a speedy recovery.
