The national para archery team will receive new equipment after securing funding from the National Sports Council to enhance their international competitiveness.
THE national para archery team is poised for a significant equipment upgrade following an allocation approval from the National Sports Council.
National Archery Association of Malaysia honorary secretary Muhammad Zul Izzi Ab Manaff confirmed the funding is aimed at comprehensively improving the quality of training and competition gear.
He clarified the move is not due to a shortage but to modernise outdated equipment for greater international competitiveness.
“We have been making small improvements, but this time we have been given the advantage to upgrade more comprehensively because there are some pieces of equipment that are a bit behind,” he said.
Zul Izzi stated the upgrade will include core components like bows, risers, and limbs.
He believes the new equipment will help athletes maintain a higher level of consistency in their performances.
The funding amount was not disclosed, but the move follows a recent working committee meeting at the National Sports Council in Bukit Jalil.
