Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu posts video to debunk social media rumours of his death and AI fakery, while vowing strikes on Iran.

JERUSALEM: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has mocked social media rumours about his death in a sarcastic video posted online.

In the clip published on his official X account, Netanyahu is seen receiving a coffee at a cafe outside Jerusalem.

“I’m dead for coffee,” he said, employing a colloquial Hebrew expression meaning to love something to death.

He then raised his hands to the camera and asked, “Do you want to count the number of fingers?” This was a direct reference to online speculation that a recent televised address was AI-generated, with some users claiming he appeared to have six fingers.

The premier used the video to urge Israeli citizens to respect safety instructions during rocket attacks.

He said their resilience “gives strength to me, to the government, to the army, to the Mossad.”

Netanyahu also hinted at ongoing military actions, stating, “We are doing things that I cannot share at this moment, but we are striking Iran very hard, and also Lebanon.”

The video was posted as Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps threatened to kill him.

Iran’s IRNA news agency said in a post on X, “IRGC vows to pursue and kill ‘child-killer’ Netanyahu if he is still alive.”

The threat comes as the conflict involving Israel, the US and Iran enters its third week.
