
Ferry Line Ventures reports strong demand with 41,849 tickets sold for Langkawi routes ahead of the Aidilfitri and school holiday period, adding extra trips
ALOR SETAR: Ferry Line Ventures Sdn Bhd has sold 41,849 tickets for ferry services to and from Langkawi ahead of the Aidilfitri and school holiday period.
The sales cover routes from Kuala Kedah and Kuala Perlis to the holiday island and the return journeys.
Operations Manager Lt Commander (Rtd) Norhafiz Abdul Wahid said 9,903 tickets were sold for travel from Langkawi to Kuala Kedah, with 6,960 for the opposite direction.
For the Kuala Perlis route, 13,756 tickets were sold from Langkawi and 11,230 from Kuala Perlis to the island.
The company operates an average of 10 ferry trips daily across both routes.
“Two additional trips will be provided subject to increased ticket demand, which is expected two days before Aidilfitri and two days before school reopens on 29 March,” he said in a statement.
A total of 28 extra trips have been scheduled across all routes from 17 to 29 March to accommodate the holiday rush.
Norhafiz assured that operations are expected to run smoothly as the company has mobilised all feries and heightened readiness levels.
Passengers can purchase tickets online via the Cuti Cuti Langkawi application or at ticket counters.
