Deputy Works Minister Ahmad Maslan reveals 54,055 complaints were made via MyJalan, with over 15,000 under his ministry resolved

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 54,055 complaints about road damage were submitted through the MyJalan application between August 2023 and January 2026.

Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan provided the data in Parliament, stating that 16,671 of these complaints, or 30.8%, pertained to federal, highway, and state roads under his ministry’s jurisdiction.

The remaining complaints were linked to roads managed by other agencies.

“Under the KKR, 1,511 complaints are still under investigation, while 15,160 have been resolved,” Ahmad said during the Dewan Rakyat question-and-answer session.

He explained that complaints about roads outside the Public Works Ministry’s (KKR) purview are forwarded to the relevant ministry or agency for action.

The ministry adheres to a ‘no wrong door’ policy, accepting complaints for all road types including urban, village, agricultural, and private roads.

Responding to a separate question on maintenance, Ahmad outlined the ministry’s approach to federal road upkeep.

Routine maintenance includes pothole repairs, drainage and road shoulder upkeep, grass mowing, and other safety tasks.

This work follows cycles in concession agreements and is executed by appointed companies across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak.

“Periodic maintenance is split into pavement and non-pavement work and is carried out as funding is approved,” he said.
