Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek announces new dormitories, pitches and halls for Pahang Sports School to boost athlete development.
KUANTAN: A major construction project at the Pahang Malaysia Sports School (SSMP) will deliver new facilities to enhance the environment for athletes, teachers and staff.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek stated the project includes new dormitories, covered pavilions, open multipurpose halls and staff quarters.
The upgrade will also feature synthetic hockey pitches, training fields and various other facilities to meet the school’s growing requirements.
Fadhlina emphasised that SSMP must continue striving for excellence to produce more international sports champions.
She highlighted the school’s proven strength in rugby, having closely followed the progress of its ‘Falcons’ team.
The team won the prestigious Super Schools Rugby 2025 tournament at the national level before becoming champions at the 2026 Asian Under-19 Sevens Rugby Championship.
The minister expressed hope that SSMP would sustain this momentum and continue contributing significantly to national sports development.
