Sultan of Pahang advises road users to prioritise safety, plan trips and ensure vehicle fitness ahead of Aidilfitri exodus.

KUANTAN: The Sultan of Pahang has issued a timely reminder for all travellers embarking on their balik kampung journeys for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah urged motorists to exercise patience and caution on the roads. His Royal Highness called on road users to always prioritise safety and to plan their journeys properly to avoid stress and fatigue.

“I urge all road users to be patient, obey traffic regulations and ensure your vehicles are in good condition before starting your journey,” Al-Sultan Abdullah said in a post on the Pahang Sultanate Facebook page. “Safety must be prioritised so that everyone can reach their destination safely.”

The Sultan also prayed for the safe and smooth journeys of all those returning to their hometowns. He expressed hope that they would arrive safely to celebrate Aidilfitri with joy and blessings.

His Royal Highness had observed the traffic situation firsthand. According to the post, he conducted an aerial survey of the congested traffic flow from the Klang Valley heading towards the East Coast.

In a separate statement, Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail highlighted state preparations for the festive rush. He said the state government has provided temporary Rest and Service (R&R) facilities along the Central Spine Road.

This proactive measure aims to ensure road users have access to comfortable and safe basic facilities. “This initiative is a continuation of efforts implemented last year, with improvements in the provision of facilities, maintenance and cleanliness levels,” Wan Rosdy said.

He also advised the public to use the facilities responsibly by maintaining cleanliness and adhering to the rules. The announcement of Aidilfitri falling on Saturday was made earlier by the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal.
