KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the creative Hari Raya Aidilfitri greeting cards sent to him by students and Malaysians.
In a video shared on his official Facebook page, Anwar said each card was more than just a greeting but a sincere expression of remembrance and affection.
“Alhamdulillah, I am truly touched to receive various colourful Hari Raya cards showcasing the creativity of children, some with drawings, some even with lights, truly creative!” he said.
He added that while small in form, the cards carried great meaning for him.
Anwar was seen reading several cards in the more than three-minute video, including those from Sekolah Kebangsaan Muadzam Jaya in Pahang and Orang Asli pupils of Sekolah Kebangsaan Talang in Negeri Sembilan.
He also thanked those who had sent cards creatively using simple paper and acknowledged the postal service.
“Thank you. Even sending it like this (just using paper), posting it to me. Thank you to the postal service,” he said.
The Prime Minister concluded his message by advising children not to forget the practice of greeting elders and kissing their parents’ hands on the morning of Aidilfitri.
He also reminded them to seek forgiveness and prayers for wellbeing during the festive occasion.
