Cristiano Ronaldo marked his comeback with a goal, leading Al Nassr to a 2-0 win over Al Fateh to keep pace in the Saudi Pro League title race.

CRISTIANO Ronaldo scored on his return to action as Al Nassr maintained their pursuit of Saudi Pro League leaders Al Hilal with a 2-0 win at Al Fateh.

The 41-year-old Portugal superstar, who had missed two league matches and an AFC Cup game, scored the opening goal after his exile came to an end at the Al Fateh Club Stadium.

Ronaldo’s 18th league goal of the campaign, a right-foot strike from inside the penalty area, set the visitors on their way to a relatively comfortable win.

He needed less than a minute to take his first attempt at goal, although his wayward effort was the sign of better things to come.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus star did not have to wait much longer to leave his mark on the game when he fired the visitors into an 18th-minute lead.

Ayman Yahya added a second with 12 minutes remaining to wrap up the points.
