KYIV: Russian overnight missile strikes killed at least five civilians in Ukraine, targeting multiple regions as the war continues despite international diplomatic efforts.
Three people died in the eastern city of Kramatorsk, a key Ukrainian stronghold currently facing a Russian advance, according to the head of the city’s military administration.
Separately, the body of a 55-year-old man was recovered from the rubble of a destroyed house in the central Dnipropetrovsk region.
A woman born in 1937 was also killed in the northern Chernihiv region, local officials confirmed.
Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which began in February 2022, has escalated into the deadliest European conflict since World War II.
The war has resulted in hundreds of thousands of military and civilian casualties on both sides.
