PETALING JAYA, Oct 14 — Minister of Digital Gobind Singh Deo today expressed deep shock and sorrow over the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old student at a secondary school in Bandar Utama this morning.
He said the tragedy has deeply affected many and highlighted the need to ensure schools remain secure environments for students.
“I am deeply shocked and saddened by the fatal stabbing involving a 16-year-old student that took place at a secondary school in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, this morning,” he said in a statement.
“This tragic incident has broken many hearts and stunned the entire nation. Schools should be safe spaces for learning, personal growth, and friendship,” he added.
Gobind said the police must be allowed to carry out their investigation without interference and added that his office in Damansara is ready to help the victim’s family.
He said his team has been tasked to reach out to the family and provide support during this difficult period.
Gobind, who is also Damansara MP, extended his condolences to the family of the teenager.
