A Ramadan bazaar drinks stall has gone viral on TikTok after taking a unique approach to attract customers — by placing emotional messages about parents on the front of its beverage containers.
The post, shared by TikTok user @dnienoor, has garnered 4.4 million views, 468,000 likes and more than 4,000 comments, with many Malaysians saying the touching words left them unexpectedly emotional.
Instead of simply labelling the drinks with their flavours, the seller included heartfelt reflections about parents on the containers, turning the colourful beverage jars into powerful reminders of family love and sacrifice.
Among the most talked-about messages were those dedicated to mothers. One container labelled Laicikang reads: “Mum said: ‘When I am no longer here and you miss me, look at the veins on your hands, My blood flows there…’”
Another drink, Khatira, carries the message: “No matter how rebellious a child is, they will surely shed a tear when speaking about their ‘mother’.”
Meanwhile, Tea Cincau reminds customers that “There is nothing more powerful than the prayers and love of a mother,” while Tea Ais reads: “I used to cry because my mother scolded me; now I cry because I miss my mother.”
Other messages reflect on the sacrifices parents make for their children. The Coklat container reads: “How can I complain about how hard life is, when I witnessed my mother’s sacrifices and hard work, never a word of exhaustion escaping her lips as she raised me.”
Another drink, Cha Ba Ang, recalls a phrase many may have heard growing up: “‘Tomorrow, my child.’ That is what my mother used to say when I cried for something, and only now do I understand what she truly meant.”
The stall also included a tribute to fathers on the Soda Lemon container, which reads: “Father, lend me your heart, so that I may learn how you face every struggle without a single complaint.”
The emotional messages quickly struck a chord with TikTok users, with many admitting the post left them in tears.
“Are you selling drinks or trying to make people cry?,” BiskutTerapung joked.
“It’s sad when you read sentences like this,” PLV wrote.
Some viewers said the messages reminded them of their late parents.
S.H.A shared: “I miss my late mum… This is my first Ramadan without her.”
“Read one, slide to the next, read again… and suddenly I’m crying. I miss my late mum. This is my first Raya without a mother by my side,” RACUN TIKTOK added.
Others said the words were powerful even if their parents are still around.
