National men’s doubles player Man Wei Chong aims for a podium finish at the 2026 Badminton Asia Championships in China.

KUALA LUMPUR: National men’s doubles shuttler Man Wei Chong has set his sights on winning a medal at the 2026 Badminton Asia Championships (BAC).

The tournament is scheduled to take place in Ningbo, China from April 7 to 12.

Wei Chong expressed disappointment that he and partner Tee Kai Wun have yet to reach the semi-finals since their BAC debut in 2022.

“Previously, we lost several times in the second round, so I hope we can win a medal this time around,” he told reporters.

The world number six pair’s best BAC result was a quarter-final finish in 2022.

They lost to Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto 16-21, 16-21 in that match.

Their campaigns in the next three editions all ended in the second round.

Wei Chong also hopes for better fortune after four consecutive quarter-final exits this year.

This includes their recent loss at the All England tournament.
