The Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor visited two injured UiTM lecturers, enquiring about their condition and presenting tokens of appreciation during a hospital visit

SHAH ALAM: The Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor visited two Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) lecturers injured in a fallen tree incident two days ago.

Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, who is also UiTM Pro-Chancellor, arrived at Shah Alam Hospital to meet the injured academics.

During the meeting, Her Royal Highness enquired about the condition of the lecturers from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering.

She presented tokens of appreciation while praying for their recovery.

UiTM Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Shahrin Sahib @ Sahibuddin said the condition of the two women, aged 39 and 42, was stable.

He said they were expected to be discharged within the next few days.

Shahrin added that Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin advised the two lecturers to rest well before resuming their duties.

“This is because they (lecturers) are worried. The new semester has ended, and the marking system needs to be carried out. However, we advised them to focus on their recovery,” said Shahrin.

He expressed his utmost gratitude to Tengku Permaisuri for offering prayers for them to recover and return to work.

Previously, it was reported that the 39-year-old woman sustained injuries to her face and head.

The 42-year-old victim suffered injuries to her waist in the incident along Persiaran Tun Arshad Ayub.
