KANGAR: Three men were each fined RM1,000 and ordered to perform eight hours of community service by the Sessions Court here today for littering.

Judge Sharifah Norazlita Syed Salim Idid imposed the sentences after Idzham Husin, 43, Ahmad Nasri Mohammad Yusof, 47, and Putra Che Ani, 59, pleaded guilty.

The trio were charged with discarding cigarette butts in public places without using designated containers on separate dates in January.

The offences occurred at Dataran Sena Indah, Jeti Kuala Perlis, and in front of a bank in Kangar.
