Three unlicensed photographers will be charged tomorrow for their alleged involvement in a violent attack at KLCC, following two others charged today.
KUALA LUMPUR: Three more unlicensed photographers will be charged in court tomorrow for their alleged involvement in an attack on two individuals at Persiaran Menara Berkembar Petronas (KLCC) on March 22.
Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Sazalee Adam confirmed the trio will face charges under Regulation 25(1)(n) of the National Registration Regulations 1990 for failing to possess identification documents as Malaysian citizens.
This follows the charging of two other suspects earlier today under Section 149 and Section 324 of the Penal Code for unlawful assembly and voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means.
All five photographers were arrested in the KLCC area along Jalan Ampang on March 22 to facilitate the investigation into the violent incident.
The attack is believed to have been triggered when one of the victims witnessed and approached a group of men who were assaulting an Indian tourist.
When the victim attempted to confront the men and disperse them, the group suddenly attacked from behind, with one assailant reportedly using a kerambit knife.
