MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in parts of Penang, Perak, Pahang and Selangor until midday today.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for four states.

The alert, valid until noon today, forecasts thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds.

The affected states are Penang, Perak, Pahang and Selangor.

In Penang, the warning covers the Barat Daya and Timur Laut districts.

For Perak, it involves Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, as well as Manjung, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak.

The alert also applies to Kuantan and Pekan in Pahang.

In Selangor, the Sabak Bernam district is affected.
