JOHOR BAHRU: Underground utilities engineering solutions provider UUE Holdings Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary Konnection Engineering Pte Ltd has accepted two contracts, with a combined value of SG$21.8 million, equivalent to about RM67.5 million, from Wee Guan Construction Pte Ltd.

Under the contracts, for which SP PowerAssets Ltd is the principal, is for the supply and installation of 400kV power cables, auxiliary cables and related accessories.

Konnection’s scope of works encompasses a fully integrated package covering the supply of materials and provision of manpower, equipment and tools for the installation of high-density polyethylene pipes using the horizontal directional drilling method.

Works are expected to be completed concurrently by end 2027.

UUE’s order book has now increased to RM576.0 million with these two new contracts, underpinning solid earning visibility for next 24 to 36 months.

UUE managing director Datuk Dr Ting Kok Hwa said the group is seeing encouraging progress from the Singapore operations, with activities beginning to ramp up as it deepens engagement with Singapore’s national utility operator, SP PowerAssets.

“This underscores the growing recognition of Konnection’s strong execution capabilities and delivery track record in Singapore as we are equipped to handle the 400kV power infrastructure high-voltage standards.

“This highlights our ability to compete effectively and meet the stringent technical and regulatory requirements of the market, notwithstanding our Malaysian roots.

“As we continue to position ourselves for a more meaningful presence in the Singapore market, our collaboration with Asean Cableship has gained traction beyond the initial phase concurrently, representing a key step in perationalising our subsea strategy and establishing a second growth engine.

“These initiatives are well aligned with the group’s long-term strategy to broaden its engineering solutions across both onshore and offshore segments, supporting sustained regional expansion and earnings diversification,” he said.
