A woman died and two others were injured in a collision between a car and a 4WD vehicle at a Miri traffic light intersection early this morning.

MIRI: A 23-year-old woman was killed and two others were injured in a road accident early this morning. The collision between a Perodua Bezza and a four-wheel-drive vehicle occurred at the Vista Perdana traffic lights.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene by Ministry of Health personnel. Firefighters extricated her body from the Perodua Bezza before handing it over to police.

Two other victims were rushed to hospital for further treatment. One was from the Perodua Bezza and the other was the driver of the 4WD vehicle.

The department received an emergency call at 3.05 am. A team from the Lopeng Fire and Rescue Station was deployed and arrived at the scene by 3.14 am.

The operation concluded at 4.15 am.
