Human Resources Minister calls on young people to actively share information about government training programmes, including a free AI course valued at RM5,000.

SUNGAI BULOH: Youth have been urged to be more proactive in sharing information about skills training and job opportunities. Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said this would help more people benefit from government initiatives.

He noted that many young people, including students and graduates, are not actively promoting available training programmes. “We have many initiatives and programmes,” Ramanan told reporters after a charity event here today.

He cited the example of a free artificial intelligence training programme organised in Sungai Buloh with TalentCorp. The course involved around 700 participants, while similar modules abroad can cost up to RM5,000.

Ramanan said attendees of such programmes should help disseminate information to their local communities. This would raise broader awareness of the training opportunities provided by the government and other bodies.

The minister highlighted the various Technical and Vocational Education and Training programmes offered by Yayasan Mahir. He was speaking after attending a Food Basket Donation and Bubur Lambuk Distribution Programme.

The event was held in collaboration with the Department of Skills Development. Also present were KESUMA deputy secretary-general Sutekno Ahmad Belon and Yayasan Mahir Malaysia chairman Datuk Seri Ganes Palaniapan.

Earlier, Ramanan, who is also the Sungai Buloh MP, distributed 100 food baskets and bubur lambuk to residents. The aid was targeted at the B40 group and families facing financial constraints.

The programme included a visit to a Ramadan bazaar. A total of 1,000 bowls of bubur lambuk and duit raya were distributed to children in the area.
