
Zakat Perak Al Ridzuan’s collection rose to RM272.07 million in 2025, with expenditure also increasing to RM261.54 million to assist over 141,000 applicants.
IPOH: Zakat Perak Al Ridzuan (ZAPAR) recorded a significant increase in collection for 2025. The total collection reached RM272.07 million, up from RM252.12 million the previous year.
Expenditure for distributing zakat also saw a substantial rise. It increased by nearly RM60 million to RM261.54 million, compared to RM203.33 million in 2024.
Applications for zakat assistance grew from 114,165 to 141,164. The Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) president Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini announced a new initiative to strengthen distribution.
“MAIPk will introduce a new initiative by appointing distribution amils (zakat collectors), as a step to strengthen the management and delivery of zakat assistance to the asnaf group,” he said after a council meeting.
The largest allocation was for the monthly financial assistance scheme. It involved RM70.60 million distributed to 14,576 recipients.
Healthcare support was another major expenditure area. A total of RM16.44 million was spent on hemodialysis assistance for 640 recipients.
Medical aid for treatment and medication costs amounted to RM7.18 million. This assistance benefited 839 asnaf individuals.
Other significant distributions included house construction aid. This scheme involved RM7.53 million for 88 recipients.
Education sector support amounted to RM27.28 million. It benefited 41,905 students across the state.
The asnaf economic empowerment programme spent RM12.45 million. This initiative supported 1,872 recipients.
Cash waqf collections under Waqaf Perak Al Ridzuan totalled RM3.87 million. The initiative also registered 742 new donors this year.
