Mara proposes renaming MRSM Kinarut to MRSM Tun Musa Aman to honour Sabah’s former governor for his education contributions.

KOTA KINABALU: Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) today expressed its intention to rename Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM) Kinarut as MRSM Tun Musa Aman in appreciation of the immense contributions of the 11th Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sabah.

The intention was conveyed by MARA chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki during a courtesy call on Tun Musa at Istana Seri Kinabalu here today.

Based on a post on Tun Musa’s official Facebook page, Dr Asyraf Wajdi said the proposal was also expressed on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as recognition of Tun Musa’s role and major contributions to the development of education in Sabah.

“The renaming of MRSM Kinarut is seen as a meaningful recognition of Tun Musa’s services and commitment in strengthening education and human capital development in the state,” said the post.

The proclamation ceremony for the change of the MRSM’s name is expected to be held in the near future.

Also accompanying Dr Asyraf Wajdi during the courtesy call were MARA director-general Datuk Zulfikri Osman, MARA Education Division deputy director Sahrizal Mohd Saderi and MARA Sabah director Dr Shahrizin Abdul Sharhadat.
